The Blue-Green variety shown above lives mostly in the South-Eastern US.

Also known as the May Beetle.

NFH I'd have to agree with you. Every time I've bought soft plastics in a "June Bug" color this is usually what I wind up with, I think I even have some that are red.
Outfishdya I've seen June bugs in this color and saw one like this at my place this week. I guess that is what they are shooting for here?

I know one thing, when the water is murky, my go to color is Junebug when flipping.

It is a good color. I use it in quite a few different baits and one thing I like to do is use a Junebug/blue claw Zoom speed craw on a black/blue jig.

Lots of variation in some colors between different companies.
For instance, Zoom redbug is the same color as Berkley Junebug.

Really? Strike King Red Bug just won the Classic. As far as I can tell that one looks the same as Zooms version.

Worked with a Vietnamese guy once who would gather a handful of junebugs and microwave them for bout 10 or so seconds then eat them and said his 16 month old daughter loves them. So not only bass likes that color humans do also.

I thought red bug was blue flakes and June bug is green flakes.

To me, red bug is a more translucent blue fleck, but I am half color blind and the other half blind...

Red bug is the same green flake as June bug. Blue flake is Plum.
