Sent some cards I picked up at the card show in Dallas to get graded. Happy with the results.

I used to really be into card collecting, but it has been maybe 40-some years. When my dad passed a few years ago, I found them all boxed up in his attic. 4 decades of summer heat didn't mess them up in the slightest. One of these days I want to dig back into them...but that is going to be quite a task.

I'm glad this didn't die out as a thing.

Nice cards. I wouldnt be happy with the 8.5 though. As it stands right now you couldnt even recoup your grading cost on that one if you were to sell it. Thats why I never got into the grading game. Only graded cards in my collection right now are some 2010 Bowman Chrome Seager rookies that I let someone else eat the cost of grading on and I still bought them for less than raw cost at auction. Ended up with three PSA 8's and three PSA 9's for less than $6 each on average.

What does a card grading set somebody back? I've never done that.

Depends on who you send it to and what the cards estimated value is. I think SGC starts around $30 per card and goes up from there depending on value. PSA is cheaper and sometimes will offer discounts for large submission orders. I have never had one graded. Grading can add significant value to a card if the overall number of high graded cards of any given example is low. Since I dont try to flip cards for profit, grading means nothing to me other than I have to pay more for them.

On edit: I just checked SGC and they are showing a $15 service. Pretty sure it was $30 at one point though.

Football card no... Now baseball cards, hell yes... And like everyone else, after I moved out and went to college Mom went and cleaned out my room... Baseball card, posters and Sports Illustrated magazines all went in the trash... Dan

Started my collection a year or so ago. Just getting into the hobby with my kids. It’s fun and I am teaching them how to negotiate deals and trade up for better cards.

The Parson card I picked up for $15, mahomes in a blaster pack, and Renfro for $20.

Graded 10s for Parsons are around $90-$100, mahomes $90-$110, renfro are $174
