Went Wednesday for the first time and only 5 trucks/trailers at the 897 ramp at 7:00 am. Heavy t-storms had the streams and the golf course off of Hwy 82 flooded. Courtesy docks at the 897 ramp got closed while I was there. Fishing was tough but I didn’t see any floaters.

You know fishing is good when you ask a question not related to the bite, and yet guys chime in about the bite...

They have been flogged by the bank beaters and their yellow spinner baits.....

Just reporting what I heard and then seeing the comments about the lack of vehicles in the parking lot confirms this for me.

Early on there was no parking spots left and now there is hardly anyone there..... Speaks for itself.

I just don’t buy much on here anymore these days when it comes to whether fishing is good or bad, or anything there other. Guys working night and day on here trying to keep people off “their” water with misinformation. I first got on the forum using a different account back in the late 90s as a kid using dial up internet. Back then you could find solid info and good reports - and relatively little sarcasm. But it seems like now all anyone wants to do is be a keyboard cowboy and see how many one liners they can fire up in one sitting, instead of trying to keep a pastime alive and well. The forum is pretty pathetic these days if you ask me.

That said - I like to think when asking about lake hazards people would either offer honest advice, or just not say anything at all.

When we went two weeks ago on a Thursday, we launched at the South ramp and there were 2 other trucks, none when we got done. It was our first time and we caught a couple of fish early close to the ramp on top water and their mouths were just nasty from all of the hooks. We struggled for a bit but then found them and proceeded to catch quite a few all 1-3lbs. on TX rigged plastics dead sticking them on the old shoreline. It was rare that the mouth was not nasty from all the hook marks. We saw maybe 5 or 6 other boats with one of them an obvious guide boat that was fishing the bent pole pattern and brought his clients right in on us. The fish have been hammered but will still bite based on my one and only experience out there. I have no reason to lie, I fish for fun and relaxation.

See you on the lake and have a great day!

Agree. It’s getting hammered so hard people are desperate to decrease the traffic - I understand why they do it.

Well - we had a situation come up at the house Wednesday night and I had to cancel…but planning on going first chance I get again. I don’t mind sharing any top secret info I find when I do.

^^^^^ THIS ^^^^^

They think their cute azz is getting cuter, but it's getting uglier every one liner they come up with......they know who they are.

I agree with the above, the forum isn't the same any more.

I am not trying to keep people off my home waters or anything like that, just offering advice even though it wasn't asked for. Guess that's my fault and I should just kept to myself.

Good luck to the OP, we went once and caught about 10-12 on watermelon red Rage Craws below the bridge on the east bank off isolated bushes. Was pretty color specific and not sure if this
pattern would still play but don't mind sharing.

There is a pattern on here of the “holier than though” type that complain about the current state of this forum, yet they are always lurking (reading on here) and then can’t help themselves and post. If it’s so bad, the choice is simple!
