Hi everyone,

I'm heading up to Limestone this weekend, which I've never been before, and was wondering if there was any grass or anything in this Lake? I noticed there's wood but the Texas Wildlife website says there's also Cattails, hydrilla, lily pads, pondweed, water hyacinth, willows. Is this true? I haven't seen much hyacinth in northern texas lakes. Any idea how deep they're catching them?
Anything y'all can share is appreciated.

Thanks

Jaws

I haven't been there in years. There were lily pads on the east side back then.

Thanks Rayzor. The right ones can hold some fish. I'll probably go in and out of coves until I find something.

I haven't been in a year but those pad fields on the west side in the cove north of long arm branch were gone last year but who know those things spring up out of nowhere, found some pads on Richland Chambers in a spot I've never seen them before last weekend.

Thanks SC-001. Yeah it's crazy how they're there 1 year and gone the next. I appreciate the info.

Being from Florida this texas fishing is awesome. Love the cover and structure.

I caught a catfish there once….in a bass tourney. That’s the onky fish I ever caught from that chit hole. Haha.

should have some grass growth this year with the lake being full. most of what I have seen the last few years is mostly pondweed with a sprig of coontail here and there. a few places have cattails and pads have not been doing good for a while

Had a tournament their last Saturday. 20lb won. 7lb big fish. I didn’t see any grass or pads. Water was very dark from all the rain. Caught our fish around docks. Look for signs that they are fished. Theirs a good chance there will be brush. Throw dark baits. Black blue and purple worked for us.

I live here on the Lake and I am told BRA sprays to kill Weeds and Water plants. Not sure if this is true.

I can tell you there is virtually no vegetation.

Hey, I know what happened. All of the vegetation died off during the Winter! Just like it did on Bastrop.
