Got to the lake just b4 sunrise even with a road closure/detour on HWY 159. Chance of rain today was like 10%. Ha Ha Ha...there was thunder & lightening & it poured for around 2 hours. Wish I could have sent it to Leo & Yesenia...but no such power. The bilge pump worked great & got to meet a few other fisherman while waiting for it to stop. After the storm I couldnt buy a bass bite. Since the shoulder was feeling better decided to try for bass around 50% of the time today. Ended up hooking 12 & getting 9 in the boat. Biggest was 4.3 lbs. Alan (choclabdog) was fishing the same area & ended up with 15. Also fished 3 sunfish spots and got around 30. Since so many people are taking the sunnies out to eat, they are getting harder & harder to find, so may start focusing more on the green carp. Water temp was around 86 degrees in most of the spots I fished & 96 at the discharge. Lost yet another buoy marker when the wind started up...I probably have lost around 12 of those dang things...

Funny how calm the lake looks in that last picture. Little did we know that a few hours later we would have waves crashing over the front and sides of our boat. I have never been in a worse storm in my boat.

Thanks Chuck...

Lepomis...Point well taken. I probably do go a little overboard posting my weekly trips. Truth is that I would not have anywhere the success if others had not shared info with with me years ago. I really enjoy people having success on the water & will help them any way I can, so long as they share the same respect for the resource as I have. I also understand the world we live in...there are some who will abuse those resources. Also...I am not like giving out any secret intel...The facebook page "Lake Fayette Fishing" has posted maps that mark the specific locations of the best sunfish areas. Having said all that I believe the decline of the sunfish is due to...1) cast netters ravaging the spawning beds & 2) overharvesting. So welcome to the Forum...I see this is your post #6...keep the feedback coming & feel free to pm me anytime on any subject.

Very nice Steve. Looks like you're in some deep-water area. I was playing golf in Bastrop when it hit and only got 3 holes in before calling it. Definitely wasn't expecting any rain. We did a little better today and will post later.

Thanks Yesenia...Nothing would make me happier than to see your rivers get back to normal...I miss your videos.
Thanks Trapper...
Zane...Same depths as you fish...just point the camera towards the middle of the lake...don't need to give away too many "secrets"... hide2
