This is my first year fishing Eagle Mountain. Over the winter, I had consistent success on blues , channels, and flatheads. Not huge quantities but nice ones up to 7.2 lbs. I thought when spring/summer rolled around, it was going to get good. Nope. Everything except stocker size channels has split for parts unknown. I’ll go out and catch 2 fish at 11’. The next day, they’re in 26’. One day they’re on dirt bottom, the next day on rock bottom. I haven’t found anything shallow. For the most part, I can’t manage to catch more than 3 fish in an outing. I use whole and cut fresh shad. Occasionally some punch bait but it catches mostly small (12”) channels. I’ve fished humps, flats, and creek channels. Dirt bottom and rock bottom. I’m about out of strategies.

I'm not a catfish guy , but If I was fishing eagle mountain I would watch or get with Chad Fergusion on YouTube channel Catfish edge He is the catfish guru especially on eagle mountain. Hope this helps. https://www.catfishedge.com/catfish-edge-guide-service/
The only thing worse than a porta potty in the wintertime is a porta potty in the summertime.

Think real shallow flats with structure, early early. If there's wind, fish the wind blown side. Blues could be slowing down some now. Haven't fished it in a few weeks, but I bet you catch some.

Fished yesterday and caught 45 channel cats by 11:00 am lots of small fish, but we did take home 17 keepers for a fish fry. They are shallow as in 2 to 4 foot of water using Mr. Whiskers cheese bait and we chumed out with some wheat. Rocky shoreline as they are up shallow spawning. Probably didn't need to chum but I had it so we just used it anyway. Took a buddy and his two grandsons, they had a blast.

I went out just before noon. Didn’t find them so I just cruised around a couple of places that sometimes have an alligator in them. No luck with that either. WTH? 😁
