Looking for a place to stay at Possum Kingdom. Preferably in the south D&D area. Will be towing boat. Thanks for your suggestions.

There isn't much. We stay at Lush Resort when we stay up there. Tell them you have a boat and take plenty of extension cords.

There are several there. We usually stay at the motorboat inn. Everything is now considered peak season so they are higher priced.

Retirement best job ever.

Yup, if your coming from west that's the way. From the east it adds a bunch of extra time to drive

VRBO or AirBNB. Wife and I found a great place right on the lake, 3 minutes from a free public ramp, although not in the area you are looking but not far.

Best bet is to find a house to rent in the area. West side has Fox Hollow, Possum Hollow and Bass Hollow but I can promise a rental house will be nicer to stay in.

The Motorboat in has attempted to go "high-end" rates of $160 per night.
I stayed at Willow Beach RV Park & Marina recently and it was nice as well; but agree, look for a VRBO.

When we have to many guest to comfortably house at the lake house we have put people up at Hideaway cabins, they're not the best or worst place in the world. https://visitmineralwells.org/listings/the-hideaway-cabins-and-inn/

I love Possum Kingdom and have fished it for 65 years but the Brazos River Authority doesn't seem to cater to fishermen. I think they like the revenue off of all of those $1,000,000 - $10,000,000 homes
I would love to see a combination motel/restaurant/store right there at the 4-way stop where the old 7-11 store is near Willow Beach.
Maybe, you might start seeing some 2-3 day tournaments if there was. I think BRA is telling us something by not going that direction, and that's too bad.
Good luck finding a place

I don't think it's up to the BRA, it's up to private investment and it's tough to make a go of it when nobody is out there 7 months of the year. And fisherman are unreliable. The little pk one stop which does great burgers has opened up early for tournaments before with breakfast and nobody shows. I know the guy that did the pk general store. Sold him some equipment and gave him some stuff. He has an awesome place and again the off season is a killer. I have stayed at lush during off season for tournaments and it's a ghost town.

I didn't know that there was an off season for bass fishing. PK is one of the best winter lakes I know of. I fish it year round.
I would stay and fish it for 2-3 days at a time if there was a good place to stay, and relax in between casts. In another life,
I have had to make presentions to the BRA board in Waco. Its a "tough crowd"
What I had in mind was something for fishermen. Somehing like Bridgeview RV on Fork, there are many others but that RV park comes to mind
Anyway, I'm going to check into that, I think it is time.

PK is just far enough away from everything to feel like you are away from civilization and investment in businesses around the lake reflect that. Sure it is slammed in the summer on holidays and weekends but week days can be slow as hell. You could have gone fishing the Tuesday and Wednesday after Memorial Day and had the lake to yourself for the most part. Possum Hollow seems to be the main place that gets the multi day tournament stuff from what I have seen. I love going during the week and letting the rest of the folks slam the lake on the weekends. Rental homes are a huge thing at PK now. You can find a place to stay on the lake pretty easy in the off season.
