Well! It's official! May was the wettest May on record for Montgomery County, Texas.

It was the 4th wettest month on record for us. 14.77" in the local airport. Pretty sure we got more than that here at the house.

All of the top 5 wettest Mays have come in the last 10 years.

All of the top 5 wettest months have come in the last 18 years.

Funny thing is, last year we were looking like we were headed for a super wet summer, then the spigot got turned off. We had a really big storm blow straight down I-45 after a string of them on previous days, and then we didn't get 2" of rain over the next 3 months. We literally had trees dying from the drought by August 0f 2023.

Not sure of the point of this post, but it definitely makes ya go, hmmm.

This planet is billions of years old and it will be billions of years older before being enveloped by the sun. It's gone through ice ages and hot stages it's entire life....and still comes out the same way. Us puny mortals have nothing to do with how wet or dry it is. Enjoy it while it lasts as summer is coming and we might not see another drop until September. Sure wish I'd bought those rain containment silos when I was looking a them.

I`ve had 23.4" since 1-1-24 in N/W Erath County. Lots of hay going to be made this year. Biggest problem is getting it cut and bailed before it gets wet. My son has had hay on the ground for a week now and rained on 4 times already and it`s still wet.

We've had 24"+ for the month of May here in Onalaska. Got 2" yesterday and the sad part is that if it were to quit raining tomorrow the yard would be cracking open in 2 weeks.

Same, not cracking but turning to powder. I'm just east of the Alabama Coushatta Reservation by about 20 miles. Mrs RayBob works at Livingston Memorial Hosp..
