I just installed a new Ghost on my boat and have a couple questions. I have Lowrance graphs that are networked together. The front HDS 9 doesn't have its own puck. Does the Ghost puck make it able to share with the HDS 9? Not sure what model i have of depth finder, it is touch screen and really slow loading maps.
Second question, i didn't upgrade to the side scan nose cone and the cord that came with the Ghost doesnt go into the HDS 9 i have. Doesn anyone know the part number for the 7-9 or 0-7 connector i need?

Your ghost will work with most HDS units reguardless of size. It gets plugged into channel 2 with either the HDS or the AI3-1 that is the black 9 pin connector. If they are networked with Ethernet then your guood. You may need an adaptor for the blue connector which is Channel 1 not recommended for HDI or 3-1 transducers only sonar. Would be helpful to know what units you have model wise and what transducers then I can be more specific on how and what.

It is a gen 2 touch. It has the black structure and blue sonar plugs in the back of the unit. When i plug in the structure i get nothing and it wont go into the sonar plug. At this point in my fishing all i care about is getting sonar and down if possible on the front without adding a different transducer. Dont have wants for controlling the trolling motor with anything but the foot pedal and have spot lock. The two Lowrance units i have are connected with the cable and i guess the front unit is using the puck from the back unit. If a way point is saved on the front unit will it be seen on the back unit?

when you say structure scan are you talking about downscan or Side Image? Just so you are away You don't have a 2 channel system. with the Gen 2 while you can switch between the 2 ports you can't run them at the same time. So at this point I am very unclear as to what transducers you have in the ghost and you want to use on the Gen 2 currently, If you can clarify that I am sure we can get this figured out. I believe you can get an adaptor for this

I could be wrong but i thought the nose cone that comes with the ghost is down and sonar not side scan. You can upgrade the nosecone to side scan. The above cable looks like the one i am looking for, only concern is one end isnt blue like what would be on the sonar end from a regular transducer. I guess my question now is if the cable that comes with the ghost plugs into the back where is labeled structure, wouldnt i get down imaging? Or is there a setting i have to change? I am used to Hummingbird so this is why i have so much confusion going on

Correct, only down and 2d sonar on the factory ghost nosecone. Don’t worry about the end not being blue, it’s what you need. They make another adapter, but it won’t give temperature and this one will.
It’s been too long since I’ve used a gen2, so I can’t answer the other questions.

The AI3-1 for the Ghost will not work on the Gen 2 so you are getting the HDI Sonar and downscan. I believe that it will only work on the Black 9 pin connector. The Ghost comes with a Mini 9 pin to 9 pin adaptor which is where you want to plug in with your HDI The HDI will only work on the 9 pin later models works on either. The items below copied out of the Ghost manual you should have all you need to get it hooked up
Mini 9-pin to regular 9-pin adapter (included) 9-pin to 7-pin adapter cable (sold separately, 000-13977-001)
The Downscan is on the home page under Structure Scan It gives you left, right and Down select down and you are good to go. You do have to setup sonar and transducer under installation.

The part # 000-13977-001 that Larry posted will work with the gen2 and factory HDI transducer, but it will NOT give a temperature reading from the transducer, if that’s important to you. I had originally bought that adapter and then had it pointed out to me that it wouldn’t read the temp for some reason. But, you can network around that issue with Ethernet cables and transducers on the transom.
This one does give the temperature reading. # 000-12571-001
So, just so you understand. You can buy either adapter posted (000-12571-001 or 000-13977-001), just one will not give you a temp reading.
Now something else that I have seen, Larry also mentioned the mini 9 pin. Some guys don’t look in the box hard enough and throw that one away.

The early adaptor did not work with the Temp but that has been corrected for the ghost. If he is going to plug into the the black 9 connector then he does not need an adaptor the 9 pin on the other side of the Mini 9 plugs right into the 9 pin connector on his HDS gen2

My buddy and I both had to have the adapter.
