I'll be running a dargel skout 210 in the Seadrift area. My boat needs a new fish finder. I have a Lowrance Hook 9 reveal that I can put on. It Has the inland maps and will take a navionics chip.
It hasbeen suggested to me to get the Texas One Chip but I would need a different fish finder to use it and I'd like to avoid spending the money if it's not necessary right now.
Do y'all think the maps and tracking capability would get me by or should I go ahead and spend the money to upgrade now?
Second question is do y'all think a 7" screen would suffice if I go ahead and get a mew system (I can get a 7" for halfthe price of a 9") or would a 9" be a ton better?

I used to mark some wading spots when started fishing the area. A couple of routes into some of the back lakes.
I wouldn’t spend any of your money on more than what you already have.
Give me a shout and I’ll show you how to get around and where you can get into trouble.

Humminbird Helix 15”. Navionics and Humminbird Coasral chips plus aerial overlay chip for LA.
Texas One chip will not run on Humminbird. I would like to have it.
If I replaced it today I would go Lowrance 16” with radar. About $8K.
