Texoma is still several feet high. Topwater for stripers is good on main lake points early. On the windy points the surface fish are on the small side, but if you throw a white slab and bump it along bottom you can pick up a little bigger fish. Some birds working, but not a lot first thing in the morning. There is plenty of clear water to be found, and the clear water is producing larger fish. Schools can be found near old river beds in water 30-50 feet deep. Live shad work best for the deep schooling fish. Having some success jigging white slabs and 3/4 oz chrome kastmaster spoons, but not as successful as live shad. I had to kick start one school. I got on top of them and they would not take live or artificial to start with. I cut up 10 shad into small pieces and threw that over board into the school. That seemed to throw them into a frenzy and we started catching. That's the only school we had a problem with. All the others started hitting right away.

If you would like to go fishing give me a call or text me. I will put you on the fish. I still have some available dates in May. (817) 506-1600. www.texomastriperadventures.com $400 for 2 people. $100 each additional person. If you limit out on stripers early we will go find some white bass. I don't cut trips short when the fishing is good.
