Went to the Dermatologist Monday to check a constant "dry spot" on my forehead. She just called and said it's skin cancer but in early stage so they're setting me set up to have it removed using MOHS procedure. I googled it and doesn't seem too bad. Only other option given was radiation which I firmly said NO. Anyone with first-hand experience with this?

Had a patchy area on my upper cheek and temple. Dermo doc hit me with nitrogen and froze it. No more issues with that spot. Now got a place on my shoulder and the top of my head? .

Advice? Wise men don't need it. Fools

had it done 3-4 times on face/head.......not bad....most of my times have been, they numb the spot up,takes 15 minutes or so then they cut out small chunk, test the outside edge, most time they got all mine and I'm out of there 2 hours total...one time it took about 4 hours....take your phone with you to entertain yourself because the waiting is only downside...
mohs surgery is where they cut out all of what they think is cancerous...then they cut out small area around the incision, test it to make sure cancer has not spread wider or deeper, take that portion into lab, check it and it it is clean, you good to go...

She froze a couple spots on top of my head also on Monday. Said something about a kinda full-body procedure that ins will pay for at 65.

Yea, head and face seem to have the thinnest skin.

I had Mohs surgery on my nose in May 2021. I have a high tolerance for pain but man when the numbing stuff wore off I thought I got kicked in the face by a horse. My incision was probably 1.5 inches long not sure if that is normal or not. I haven't had a sun burn since that time. I go back next month for a yearly scan and I think I might have another spot on my cheek. We will see.

I would see if they could remove your head to make sure there is no spreading
