It will be interesting to see how the spawn "washes" out after all the fresh water we have gotten in the lakes. I'm sure there are plenty of "theories" but facts will prove out in the long run.

Hard to know how this plays out Bill.
The inflow of fresh water and nutrients should make the water more fertile. Lake Belton's been stagnant for about 3 yrs. Hopefully the crappie spawn was good and survival good. Just glad to see some fresh water.

I was out yesterday looking around. There is some kind of fry in the growth everywhere. Don't know what they are, it would only be guessing. But they are everywhere.

I'm curious to see what happens also. I typically fish the Leon, just north of Lake Belton and just before all the rain I started catching a few here and there but I'm worried all this water is going to have them out of the rivers.

Good to see some folks on here in the Central Texas area talking crappie because the spawn this year has be completely stumped.

Spawn was too screwed up to even fish randomly on Belton. Even when they were spawning up shallow, something changed the next day and they were gone. Caught more fish deeper stagging than up shallow. Mostly because I missed them when they came shallow.
