I am looking to get a dedicated braid cutter. Should I get something like the Mustad Braid Scissors or would a common pair of Dikes be just as good? I am surf fishing so, I want the capability to cut heavier braids safely. Or, am I overthinking things with toenail clippers being a reasonable choice?

TIA,
Sid

A small pair of Walmart's sewing scissors work the best. It was many years ago and I can't remember which fishing show I saw that on, but they were right on.

Fiskars for Kids. Couple bucks anywhere. Cut braid well. Toss 'em when they quit.

I buy a dozen or so whenever WM has them on sale. Lasts me a couple years.

Tried some high dollar ones. No better.

Tip: Don't cut mono with them.

braid scissors are 100% worth it. You want something with the little serrations on the blades to hold the braid as it cuts.

Yep. I usually get them for $0.99 at the back to school sale. Use them a few weeks, then trash 'em.

Clippers and diag's just don't work for me. Need scissors of some kind.
