Landing a record fish is exciting, but helping smiling, young anglers catch their first fish lasts forever! My wife and I sponsor and volunteer for C.A.S.T. for Kids fishing events. This year we had over 70 kids and a great event before the weather got bad. There are lots of boats that volunteer to take kids, but also lots of kids on the shore. Besides kids fishing themselves, I set up a few rods to try for larger fish to pass off to the kids. I ended up with 5 channel catfish, 2 freshwater drum, 2 common carp, 1 black buffalo, and 2 turtles to pass off to the kids. There was lots of screaming, dancing, and jumping around. Events like this are always looking for volunteers, so check your area. Here are a few of the pics. Enjoy.

Thank you for the compliment. I am just a lowly sinner that has been blessed by grace (thank you Jesus). As a wildlife scientist, I do enjoy sharing God’s creation. Any reference to “good” should be credited to God’s mercy. As for me, God still has a lot of chiseling to do.
