That’s too far for me. I play 2-3 nights a week at winstar

If you play at card houses and not casinos you will pay membership and by the hour.
You also need to familiarize yourself with how “bomb pots” work
Possibly Congress as well
You will likely get your azz kicked at the card houses for a while till you figure it out
Safest bet for beginners is Choctaw or winstar

What happens in Card rooms stays in Card rooms.

Be careful some are pretty shady, some house money pot splashing.

Don't sit down with less than $500

Depends on what you are looking for, NLH, PLO, mixed game, large room, small room, tournaments, cash, what stakes and so on.

TCH Social in Irving is the nicest one in Dallas. They have a full bar and very a good menu and food. TCH Dallas is great action, but is off Denton Dr and LBJ, a sketch area, but they have good security. I have played there since they opened and never personally had an issue, but have heard of some car break ins and such.

The Lodge is trying to open a room in the Farmers Branch Area, if they do it will probably be the nicest room in Dallas. Polk and his partners run a good business.

I have been to a few smaller rooms, but aIl they usually spread is 1/2 NLH. Did play a decent round of each PLO / NLH at a small room recently. I just wasn't impressed with the security, so I will likely never go back.

NLO = no limit holdem
PLO = pot limit Omaha
TCH = Texas card house

Spent a couple hours there today. Walked away up $440.

Always a lot of action in that room

Unreal action, not to offend anyone but there is always a young Asian male at every table raising to $20 pre-flop every hand. Guess they watch a lot of Poker on YouTube.
