B.A.S.S. open at Logan martin has 195 boaters but only 82 co-anglers which means 113 boaters are fishing by themselves......toyota series on Chickamauga has 205 boaters and 193 co-anglers....a much higher percentage...
my guess the reason why BASS has fewer co-anglers is that most of the participants fishing BASS opens are trying to qualify for the Elites and that would rule out no-boaters...

Interesting since all of the MLF tournaments have the same number of pros and cos. Maybe it’s the cost to fish as a non-boater at Bass

doesn't seem to have affected the toyota series tournys but co-angler participation in BASS opens is much less.....anybody know why?

Who wants to fish as a co to begin with. Maybe they are learning that it's stupid.

So….let me try to decipher what ‘Trapper is saying? I think he’s saying that the Toyota guys don’t use FFS and the BASS Open anglers only use FFS, is that right Trappington?

Better question is, who would want a co to begin with

I don't know. I won 2 boats from the back seat. Didn't feel too stupid at the time.

Yes, I do think FFS is hurting co-angler participation. Harder to learn something when you can't see what the guy up front is doing and your chances of winning are impacted as well. Regarding participation between Toyotas and the Opens, I believe it is due to payouts. Toyotas still give away a $30k boat regardless of participation. Also the fact that BASS is a 3 fish limit is a negative factor.
