I took a group of three today on Texoma. We took off right at first light and didn't see any sign of birds on our way down the lake. I was headed to the islands, but decided to check one of my spots further north to see if the fish were still moving up the lake. I found several schools in 30 feet of water off a clay beach with slow decline several miles up the lake from the islands. 1 of the 3 guys wanted to try jigging, so I tied on a white bomber slab and he went to work. The other two guys were using live shad. The live shad were catching 3 to 1 over the slab. He was determined to stay with jigging, so I swapped out the white slab for a chrome 3/4 oz kastmaster spoon. The kastmaster started catching immediately before he could get it all the way to bottom. There was a good mix of different size fish in the school we were on. Half were throw backs, and the other half were nice box fish with a few over 20 inches.
I have some openings, so give me a call if you would like to Striper fish Lake Texoma. (817) 506-1600
