Lake levels that is!!! Some have recovered earlier this year from our severe draught conditions. Many have been getting much needed H2O and are still on the rise. A few have gotten WAY TOOO MUCH!!!! Navaro Mills, Aquilla and Bardwell to name a few. Some lakes recover quickly. Waco for instance, dumps a lot of water in a hurry. Of course, Cedar Creek and Palestine are constant level lakes that have gotten too much as of late. Belton is still crying "more" after a 20' deficit! More coming this week......at least forecasted!!!! [Linked Image]

We need rain badly here in South Texas:

-- Choke Canyon is -28.87 ft low as of today.
-- Medina Lake is -90ft low
-- Canyon Lake is -22.24ft low

We need a couple of good hurricanes to sit off the coast and fill up the lakes.

Yup, but just rain. No hail or tornadoes.

Yes.....need rain in that west Texas water shed to help all the hill country lakes! The entire present rain cycle needs to shift to the west. Far too much rain to the east. But that is Mother Nature!!

After watching so many rain chances pass just east of Lakes Belton and Stillhouse, the floods came with a vengeance. Belton is now 9.6ft above normal and Stillhouse has filled to just above normal. Both lakes were 20ft or more below normal last fall. Belton has come up 14ft since Sat morning. Lake Waco is 20.26ft above normal and spread out for miles.

People in Gatesville, Pidcoke, Meridian, Clifton and other towns in Coryell, Bosque, and Hamilton counties received major flooding. At one point early Sunday morning, Cowhouse Creek which heads out near Hamilton and flows across Ft Hood (Cavazos), was gauging at 93,000cfs. at Pidcoke. I believe 48,000cfs is the most I've ever seen in that creek.

With some fresh nutrients finally coming in these 2 lakes, fishing should be good the next 2-3 years. Hoping so anyway.

How far is Waco from the hwy 6 bridge? Iā€™ve been over it probably 15 years ago. I seem to remember it being a long ways off the water! Glad to see Belton come back up. Thatā€™s a fun lake!

It's a long way to that bridge. Waco is 20'+ over now with a small rise(finally). The water damages park structures and they generally take some time to repair things after these events. Belton is now 10'+ over and some ramps that just opened up are now closed for flooding. Guess I'll be heading east!!! roflmao OR taking up catfishing!!!!! fish

I was coaching in Killeen when Lake Belton came over the dam. I believe in 1990.

Yep. The water level was something like 4 feet below the HWY 36 long bridge.

Folks in Moffat were fishing in their back yard.

Craziest thing I have ever seen because it wasn't trickling over the dam, it was gushing. I have video of it still, somewhere on a one of those small VHS tapes.

Oh yes!! 317 to Waco was closed for a long time with water over the road. That intersection of 317/36 was closed. I had employees that had to take the long way around from Gatesville. Really pretty interesting!
