Me and the family are going to go camping at Mustang Island State Park in Port Aransas the next few days.

Has anybody been there and have any suggestions on fishing there or what to take as far as tackle and what to use?

Took the family there about 3 weeks ago. If you are going to camp on the beach. You have to go to the right when you come in. You will be going south of the jetties. Try and park close to the rough water showers, it nice to rinse off all the sand and salt water.
I brought top waters, plastics and fresh dead shrimp and Fish-Bites. My son and I had a great day on the top waters with the trout. We ended up with 17 on Saturday. The Shrimp and Fish-bites were killing the Whiting. No reds though.

I just got back today, skitterwalks and top dogs in white or pearl where the ticket. Speckled trout color worked as well. Soft plastics like salt water assassins also worked after the topwater bite slowed. I fished four days, on thursday we hammered the trout.

Might have to make this trip soon
