What size line are yall using for wacky rig? I have 10lb flouro on the rod I've been using, the last 2 times I've snapped the line on good size fish. My drag isn't set tight, it's loose enough. Been using some 1/0 wacky hooks, is there a better choice?

Depends on the cover you're fishing. I usually use 12lb but have used 15 and 17.

I have 30lb braid on 10lb leader dbl uni which I hate and palomar held up on a 6.4 fatties with a lews custom lite spinning reel and falcon expert, and hr later lost a 9+ on same setup so broke out the abu garcia Ike spinning reel with a Veritas rod that's caught several over 9. I knew that lite setup was gonna cost me too.

12lbs BPS Fluoro is awesome. I’ve tried other brands and ended up breaking off a ton of fish. Several years ago there was an article rating different Fluoro brands and the BPS was up at the top. As far as hooks go, I like a 2/0 Trokar wacky hook with the fiber weed guard. I only wacky rig Senkos so I have been using the clear silicone bands from Arsenal to prevent throwing off the worms and ending up with a mess. I rig them just like I would without the bands and hook through the body of the worm. Not a fan of the o-ring and hooking the worm sideways. Hope this helps!

Not really wanting to tie on a leader. Probly just go to 12lb flouro in a different brand. Who makes good flouro?

As I mentioned in my original reply above, you can’t go wrong with Bass Pro XPS fluoro. It is actually manufactured by Toray out of Japan and offers a good combination of strength and abrasion resistance. A little stiff, but not so stiff that it doesn’t work on a baitcaster. The TackleTour fluorocarbon line test results can be found here: https://www.tackletour.com/reviewfluorocarbontestpg2.html

I use McCoys Xtra Clear CoPolymer 17 lb line. I am not a very good Wacky rig fisherman but this time of year you just have to throw it some especially with those post spawn fry guarders.

My wacky rig set up is 50 lb Power Pro to a 12 lb Sunline Sniper leader. I use a leader that is about 5 foot.
