I still can't paint a bluegill crank for the life of me

All of the colors will work, but I know what you mean trying to produce a color or copy one and not succeeding.
Still - great lures and lure colors!

I've been building custom jigs for 48 years now and added spinner baits buzz baits and blade baits through the years I've had a customer base of 196 anglers and at one time I was in 9 tackle shops. I still get email all the time I turn alot of them down as I'm 69 years old now and going through cancer treatment which is curable with major surgery.

Thank you that means a lot! Ever since I saw the way you thread tie skirts on this forum I copied you and have had amazing results. Its far superior to the rubber band- I can layer colors, the skirts never fall off, they flare out more, and just get bit better.

I truly hope you beat cancer i'm sorry to hear that. I hope you can still make jigs to maintain sanity. Stay strong!

Like I said I've been building jigs since 1977 when living rubber was the square rubber in fine frog hair and regular grade I tied the umbrella skirts and switch to round rubber when it came it to production then when Skirts plus introduced silicone skirt material in 1986 I started building the umbrella skirts in silicone. In 1984 I also started building the original puffball jigs in living square rubber in both fine and reg grade rubber. I also built the original Lions collar jigs at the same time. And I still build both today the puffball jigs I build in both round rubber or in silicone with accent colors and add flashabou or bucktail accent colors. With the Lion collar jigs I combined both round rubber in fine or reg grade rubber and silicone skirt material in different colors and I also add flashabou or bucktail. I'm a big fan of Yamamoto twin and single tail 4" & 5" grubs as my trailers also single josh pork in 101' 11 and big daddy pork . I'm a big finesse guy I build jigs from 1/8 oz to 1 oz all using light wire mustad black Nickel hooks. I specialize in light line 4,4,8,10 maxima in all types of structure you don't need big line to horse big fish out of trees or brush or rock piles. The u
Umbrella skirts Is just one way to get the maximum flare out of your silicone skirt material or round rubber material it's the best under any conductions you fish.

balazs just keep up what your doing everything you build in jigs spinner baits buzz baits or blade baits or painting crank baits you do everything right and you build some outstanding color combinations in your baits. The umbrella skirts are just one more weapon to add to your jig arsenal no matter what size of jigs you build. I enjoy seeing your skirt design you build. I've had my time in the sun I've slowed way down but I still build my share of jigs I retired from manufacturing about 3 years ago. I still get 30 to 40 emails a week and turn down about 90% of them because I have minimum orders on all my Jigs Spinner baits Buzz baits and Blade baits. Balazs just keep up what your doing because your doing it right.
