I've been driving diesels (Duramax, VW and Cummins) and Jeeps since early 2000's. I haven't had a gas V8 until now. I was shocked that the 5.3L Chevy V8 uses 8 quarts of 0 - 20 oil. Dang!

Diesels are 12 quarts. I'm used to that. It's the gas engine volume that surprised me.

I've converted all mine to Amzoil, F250 8 qts., Wrangler 5 qts., Mercury ProXS 250 7 qts., Harley 2.7 qts., did them all within a week, so since my miles won't exceed the rating, I'm on a once a year oil change schedule... LOL

I am about to find out how much more the diesel is over the coyote (8 qts. too) If you are doing dealer oil changes they will probably offer and recommend the synthetic blend but you can opt for full synthetic...for little higher price of course. Both of the dealers near me say 5k miles on an oil change. 140$-150$ for the blend and 230$ for the full synthetic this will include tire rotation and other fluids checked and topped off. Also, one would add up to two gallons of DEF for those prices.
