Hanging your shrimp boat on a power line. Yes, we have our own class of morons.

We've got a fleet of Gumps.
Putting 80 gallons of gasoline into a storage box gets you a lifetime membership in that particular club.

Looks like low voltage lines. Cable and telephones probably out.

There's absolutely a big gap in commercial fishing circles.
Shrimp boat captains are *Usually* pretty upstanding guys, keep their equipment in good shape, and you'd loan your truck to one without worry.

Crab boat guys work their tails off, and again are good people to be around.

Then there's the oyster guys. Rules? We don't need no stinking rules.

I don't think there's an episode of Lone Star Law where an oyster boat was stopped and didn't have multiple violations.

That’s what happens when you lick too many Gulf oysters in the warmer months.

Do NOT lick Gulf oysters May, June, July, August, September

We love oysters. But you're correct, we don't get them after the bay temp goes above 55 degrees. One episode with an amoeba will pretty well cure you from that particular activity.

Living here also will make you an oyster snob. I'll only eat them when I get them off the boat, never ever in a restaurant, you have zero clue where they come from or how long they've been sitting.
