Lot of drama queens on here trying to scare you. Follow the instructions and you will be fine. Yes, it's a critical test that may save your life.

Coaching buddy of mine wife waited until 51 to have her first colonoscopy and had it mid October last year. Stage 4 colon cancer and she passed on Mothers Day 7 months later. I’d say a colonoscopy is well worth a night of the chits.

1,000% My business partner passed in 2009 from complications of colon cancer found through a routine colonoscopy. Do it for the peace of mind especially if there's family hx.
This isn’t exactly the colonoscopy success story needed to convince people to go!

Apologies I didn't provide more context. The original polyp was found through screening and removed. It was determined to be cancerous and more tests were done. He lived symptom free for many years after however the cancer returned and metastasized to his pancreas. Long battle via treatments etc until passing. Get checked. Poop in a box and send it in; Prep and colonoscopy; whatever it takes.

Poop card/box does not identify polyps. Polyps (potentially found during colonoscopy) are then sent to pathology for grading.

Poop card/box is NOT a substitute for colonoscopy and the advertising of the poop card/box suggesting it as an alternative to colonoscopy is misleading and dangerous.

Poop card/box does have its time and place…but it is NOT a definitive substitute for a colonoscopy.
You could have a completely normal card/box and have multiple polyps of concern.

I think I passed that tooth that I swallowed when I was 7 this morning.

You opted out of THE most informative, adverse poop group text in the history of the world, just think how much more qualified and up to date you would be on this subject if you wouldn’t have dropped out of that class.

Oh, that class…Boomer couldn’t figure out how to turn my phone off from getting a buzz/beep notification every time someone replied to that group text. It was affecting my ability to work at times when two or three would get in a rapid succession of one upmanship.

I am not a dr and don't claim to know, but I thought the whole reason for getting the poop card or colonoscopy is to find the cancer at a early stage which won't both do this?
I know the card won't show you like the colonoscopy will but won't it detect the cancer early so it can be treated. The colonoscopy will allow for removal correct? I have done the card deal for about 15 years and now going after the colonoscopy to find out if I have any polyps to get ahead of it if I have it. I wonder if my thinking is correct?

anyway its planned I will no soon. LOL so will dr LOL

Card does NOT identify polyps. You can have multiple polyps and have a normal card.
The vast majority of the time, polyps are completely benign and no big deal.
But, sometimes polyps have characteristics found on subsequent biopsy that would change the standard follow up and treatment protocols. Polyps can only be found AND adequately biopsied with a quick and easy colonoscopy.

CCTX that is what I thought they both show cancer, colonoscopies let you find the polyps early to keep it from becoming cancer.

Thanks for your response

On my last annual physical I told my doctor the last 2 were pretty and pink inside and I would not be taking another one. He seemed to be alright with that.
