Hard to quantify what his endorsement deals have been worth over the years but he's been with Ranger forever, Bridgeford for awhile... So I'd doubt he's been working for minimum wage... My take on Randy is he would pretty much whip 95% of all of us on the water TODAY, even if you used FFS and he didn't.

Now, randy is a click bait king, pure and simple, you take that for what it is. He was a hammer in his day and for a good while too. He made his mark in this industry and now being over 60, you bet he is only half of the angler he was physically when he was in his 30's.

Randy was not that good as a pro. Many others way better than Randy in his day. He is a pro at hating FFS. Thats for sure.

I had to look yea 2 wins and 95 times in the money with only 214 tournaments, almost 50% of the time he cashed money. I would certainly take that.
No doubt he has turned into a liberal whiner about everything…..but he made the big times, he made good money and still doing it with some nice sponsor still supporting him and of course the You Tube money he deposits every month because he knows how to get those viewers.

Well it looks to me like he is getting a following about the FFS anyway. I believe we are headed for a bass tournament split . The FFS will be FFS only and the Ones who do not want or have it will have their own tournament where FFS is not allowed. It is already happening .

It is a shame what some people are doing to this sport. Every major sport you see nothing but respect for the old guard. ( and in the other direction, older players being impressed by the 3 point skills of some of these younger dudes for a NBA example)

Tiger still gets a standing O if he hits a 82. We still talk about Jack and Arnie being all time greats even if they couldn't drive 300 yards in their prime. And both those guys loved Tiger despite courses being "tiger proofed"

Why so much hate? In the NBA the 'big man' isn't really a thing anymore but no ones calling Hakeem Olajuwon old or indicating he wouldn't be a 'all-star' in todays game.

Some of these guys killed it in their younger days. This guy Randy (who i know nothing about) seemed to be a decent fishermen in his prime.


My dad worked in the PC industry since the 70s, helped invent a lot of technology that at the time was ground breaking but now pointless - does that make him less of an engineer then the guy who invented say tik-tok? Randy while a bit over the top has a valid point, Every sport limits technology to some extent but also embraces it to some extend. MLB has changed the ball few times but not bats.

Just show respect for what other did with what they had - And show respect for what others are doing now with what they have.

Take the 5 toughest fighter pilots from WWII (the greatest generation) and drop them into some modern war. They were still beasts in their day and that won't change because they don't know how to fly a drone today.
