I am considering transferring my Garmin Echo UHD93sv from this 8ft boat to another larger boat. Will I have to recalibrate the compass after I do so??? [Linked Image]

Just me but I recalibrate mine about once a month. The Minn Kota Terrova too. Just for accuracy.

I don’t see how that stays calibrated in the first place, to be honest.

It has never been Calibrated grout-scout
It made an effort but would go so far then stop. I think it was just a little too windy for it to complete the process.Every thing else worked. I was able to snipe three very nice crappie & two small LMB from a small gravel pit.Think i`ll try again on a calm day. [Linked Image] [Linked Image]

I thought you were talking about the LS compass pointer. Now I think you might be referring to a heading sensor. Which are you referring too?

NO I`m speaking of the LS Compass Calibration setting under the "Sonar Setup" menu on the Garmin UHD unit. That little direction Indicator that shows up on the screen to show where you are aiming your LS transducer after you`ve calibrated it correctly. Do you have it on your Garmin LS screen? maybe you can help me . coolio

Ok, that’s what I originally thought you were referring too. Mine doesn’t work properly and that’s why I said, “that I was surprised that yours did”. It’s the one fault that I see with garmin.

Ok, I’ll try to explain it, not sure you’ll follow. Mine is mounted on a TM, it goes up and down. Yours is mounted on a pole, that pole flips to the right and flops to the left, gets turned forwards, flipped backwards, gets turned every which way to Sunday.

Now if mine won’t stay calibrated and it only moves 2 directions, then I definitely don’t see how one mounted on a pole that gets flipped in every direction possible could ever stay calibrated.

So…because that pole is not stationary in any shape or form….”I don’t see how it stays calibrated in the first place”. gumshoe police biker

If it’s never been calibrated, then YES, it would need to be calibrated to work properly.

I follow your explanation but SORRY you are incorrect! There is no flippin or floppin happening with the pole as it is securely held in place by a ram mount & I assure you it is quite stationary until I decide to move it. The transducer itself is mounted on a 0 degree LS mount in "Forward" position and only moves when I want to click it into the "Down" position (I never use Perspective mode) no different than any other pole set up I`ve seen on Youtube or this Forum & only gets turned on the Day of the week I select. So with all due respect SIR ,suggestions aside, having not seen it,you are in no position to speak on it`s behavior.
