I was in Gruene the other day, and there was a bright red Indian motorcycle parked at the curb. A truly beautiful machine. That said, I don’t know much about motorcycles, and I wonder how Indian and Triumph machines compare to Harleys. As good?

You might check with MBradford. He just bought a new Indian and it is beautiful.

Harleys have come a long way….saying that, they have a long way to go. Indian is a good motorcycle.

Anyone check out the new V4 Ducati Momster? Largest rear tire ever installed on a production bike. Thing looks mean for $28k base price!

180/55 rear isn't large? And it says $18,595 for their Monster 30th Anniversario.

I traded my Triumph Bonneville in on an Indian Chieftain about a month ago. The Bonnie was a great around town bike, but highway speeds (65-70mph) were a beating. The Indian just lopes along at the same speeds.

The biggest difference I noticed between Indian and Harley was the Indian was a lot easier to lift up off the kickstand. It felt like the center of gravity was lower than a comparable Harley. Another feature of the Indian I like is the electric adjustable windshield; just push a button near the right hand grip to raise or lower it.

HD and Indian dealers will let you test ride bikes as long as you have a m/c endorsement on your license.

Go ride some bikes, and see what you like.

Do you mean the Diavel? I think the Monster is still a v-twin. (or as Ducati likes to call it, an L-twin).

That’s it. I saw a short blip about it on tv. Looks cool.

Rear tire is only 240mm wide, skinny compared to the 300mm that was on my Ironhorse I had years ago.

Harleys have slowly and sneakily morphed into metric bikes..... but they'll fight you to death before they'll admit it.

Speaking of motorcycles, saw a huge group come through town yesterday. Had to be close to 50 riders. All Harley's best I could tell.

I think Indians are owned by Polaris after their Victory motorcycles venture.

They have done well with Indian and if I bought another bike it would be a indian. The only negative, is you have to go back to Indian for parts right now. I don't think there is any aftermarket parts, so they are expensive
