A couple weeks ago I took my wife out fishing and seems she wants to go more often now. I was going to let her use either my tarpon 160 or my reload. I was thinking I was finally going to get a nucanoe pursuit...I've wanted one for years. Instead my wife had other plans and we found a hobie revo 13 and a revo 16. She is gonna pedal them both and see what she likes more.

Keep mommy happy! Let us know how you like the kayak. Also, why the Nucanoe pursuit? Just picking your brain because I also prefer to paddle my kayaks.

Since you led her to the best Hobies for pedaling and paddling, I am sure she will want the one you prefer!

I've wanted the nucanoe pursuit for years. The reason is because I can stand in the flat cockpit when throwing my castnet. There isn't much of anything in the way for my net to catch on. I can also move the seat wherever based on load or conditions. It's one of the best paddling kayaks with a ton of room, there are many kayaks that paddle better but not many with that kind of free space and width. As for the revolution 16,,,that's the one we got. It was a little windy on lake worth sat and she tried it and liked it pretty well. She is totally new to any kind of kayaks and this is an older model revo16 with the soft seat(no vantage seat) I wanted her to know the drive will fail at some point and to really be able to paddle when that happens. We did experience difficulties when testing, at the end one of the rudder cables broke and the flippers broke off the drive. These are normal things that happen when you have moving parts. They discounted the price enough that we will fix these items with no trouble. It was good for her to see and experience failure right away so she can understand how to deal with them and be ready.

Christian, glad you got one. I have never been in a Revo, but from looking at pics I assume that the soft seat will be much more conducive to paddling (vs the vantage seat)
FYI... my son had to order a set of flippers for a 2018 drive (an older, but not the oldest, flipper design) and it took nearly 6 months to receive. He received them about a month ago.
He found a couple of sketch sellers that were selling them for a 100% to 200% markup, but the sites looked sketchy and his was working good enough (one was cracking, but still functional). Because of this, he took the safe route and ordered them from Mariner Sails with an uncertain delivery date. To Mariner's credit, they did not charge him until the flippers arrived... these are very decent folks!
Not sure what the problem was and perhaps they have corrected the supply issue.... just a heads up.

I have already talked with mariner sails to just take delivery of the kayak, give it a good once over and fix what needs fixed. The drive, it has turbo fins so shouldn't be an issue. The soft seat, yes that's why I thought it would be better for paddling also. I've put a lot of thought into this kayak and her really learning how to paddle etc. Since she is brand new to the sport she hasn't picked up any bad habits yet. She is really focusing on paddling the way I am teaching. Won't be long and she will be a monster in the kayak. Paddling skill has always been important to me. The ability to go as far in all conditions faster than anyone else is something I hold close to my heart.
