I read most of the posts on the site about Palestine. Took the advise and purchased the boat lanes chip. Downloaded it yesterday and looks like it will do the trick. That is a very very stumpy lake. Looking for any advice or tips. I will be crappie fishing but will explore for bass, whitebass and hybrids as well. Staying for 3 days near flat creek marina on flat bay. I see the river channel is on the other side of the lake. Any humps for whitebass? I looked around on the map and none stood out. I have Lowrance AT for the crappie and will mainly fish for them.

I bet you can catch them right there in timber in Flat creek. 1/8 oz Bad Shad and Gingertruce Slab Syndicate hand ties have been on my rods for Palestine lately! Good Luck!

That part of the plan. Water in Conroe is 65 as of last weekend so Palestine should be about the same temp with some crappie still spawning and up shallow. Checked the stockings and seems Hybrids are stocked big time on Palestine. Don't line to eat them but they are sure fun.

Go to the HWY155 bridge and fish the pilings for crappie and then move out about 10 yards south from the bridge and bounce slabs off the old sunken road bed/bridge for whites and hybrids.

Pal is about 6" above normal so about 98% of that timber is under water, not visible above water line. Flat Creek has a huge spawning area, plenty of cat tails. All the fish that have spawned have moved toward the Flat Creek bridge. Plenty of under water timber to search for fish just above the bridge. There may be some fish shallow further back in the bay area around the cat tails. Lots of cat tails to search in.

Thanks to everyone who responded.. The map-boat lane chip did the trick and was much needed. Sat winds at 20 plus so not much fishing. Sunday spent 1/2 the day in a back cove beating banks. Very very pretty and fishy. 2-bass, 1- hybrid, 1-crappie and 2-bream on crappie jigs. Lunch then tried the big bridge for crappie. Not much there. Tried for the hybrids on the old road bed. Caught 3 but livescope (Lowrance AT) confirmed there are there. Trollers catching nothing. Was staying near flat creek marina on the west side. Monday headed north to the stump fields. Caught 10 big big ones in about 4hrs. Back for the eclipse which was fantastic. Cleaned the fish and had an early fish fry and relaxed. Monday afternoon all $*(% broke loose and massive storms into the night. Traveled Tuesday morning home in the storms. Water 68-70 degrees and thinking crappie where between spawn and post spawn. Very nice lake and glad we went!!!!!
