Thanks for the pics and recap. I’m headed to Picachos in June with my son. Going with Ron Speed as well. This will be our first time.

Nice! Thanks for sharing.
The tree is a old Huisache, when they get big and old they really have some weird bark and shapes to them.
When they are young they have smooth bark on them.

Great report and awesome pictures. How many of those big fish in your report came from Picachos? am guessing probably 50.....Picachos fish were mostly 2 1/2 to 4lbs with occasional 5-6lb fish...really fun day of fishing...we have found the perfect trip is go fish Picachos for 3 days,catch a ton fish then go to El Salto and catch some really big fish...fish at Picachos are not dinks,they are hard pulling mostly 3-4 lb and acrobatic........

Picachos is LOW. Maybe normal for time of year. We went a few years back and water surrounded the lodge on 3 sides.

What a fantastic trip. I have been 23 years in a row. I was at both lakes this March. The camp managers Jorge at Picacho's and Fernando at El Salto do such a great job. Ron Speed Jr. Adventures is the best in the Fishing Outfitter's business. I'm going back in April. Can't wait.
