Last week we spent 3 days fishing Picachos and 4 days fishing El Salto in Mexico....there were 12 in our group and we caught 3600 fish.....336 over 6lbs,56 over 7lbs,17 over 8lbs,6 over 9lbs,5 over 10 lbs and 1 over 11lbs...I had my best 5 fish days ever (7.6,8.7,7.6,7.7 & 6.11) 37lbs 5 oz....watermelon/red and blue flake senkos and watermelon red flukes were probaly the biggest producers but a lot of fish were caught on crank baits and worms....
we booked out trip with Ron Speed as we have for several years and as one of our guys said "if you lacked for something,it's because you didn't ask for it"..food was exceptionally good and lodging good also especially for a remote area...(several pictures in photo gallery of food and lodges)....
cost for 7 days of guided fishing was about $4,000.00 which includes tips to guides and staff...our plane fare from Tallahassee,Fl. was about $700.00
this was our 4th trip to mexico plus a trip to Brazil with ron Speed and it has been great experience each time-next year we plan to go back to Brazil peacock bass fishing.....(I receive no compensation or discounts from ron speed)

spot the critters....last pic there was a bunch of cows up on the bank and I thought this was a funny looking calf...got closer and it turned out to be a goat....first pic is some sort of diving duck that kept diving around the flooded bush which was full of tilpia fry.

tilapia beds and if you look close you can see the dorsal fins of the tilapia barely sticking out of the water...and we caught a lot of fish out in front of the beds....

mountain on fire picture...our guide told us a goat herder saw a rattlesnake crawl in a hole and decided to kill the snake by piling brush over the hole and setting it on fire...wind started blowing,fire spread to entire side of mountain and was still buring when we left the area...

what kind of tree is this....believe i have seen same type of tree near Falcon lake...
