I'm looking to go fishing this Saturday and Sunday at lake aquilla. Around d this time last year we were catching crappie shallow in timber. Taking my 12 ft John boat and trolling motor. I know this year has ben a little different
Just wondering if anybody has ben lately and if they are up shallow. Any info would be greatly appreciated

The lake is full and if you put in at Dairy Hill, go under the bridge and go to the right up Hackberry. As soon as you make that turn, head for shallow water and there should be lots of stickups about 15-20' from shore. Use a long pole and use a slip cork set about 2' from either jigs or minnows. If no bites, go to water about 10' around trees. Yeah, I know, it's all trees there, LOL. Slayed em there many times. If you look at the shoreline, you will see a notch in what used to be a stock tank. I hardly ever fish past that point, never really needed to. That is one of many tanks on that lake that were stocked with Florida bass before the lake filled up. Get a good Lake Product map and you can find the others by the contour lines.
