The wife and I are loading up the kayaks and heading to Caddo this weekend. We are staying at a nice cabin on the Jackson Arm. How is the lake fishing? I know I will probably have a frog and flipping stick in my hand regardless, but I want to get my wife on some fish so she can get her confidence up in her new kayak. Any tips or recommendations on places to eat, sights to see, or areas to avoid would also be greatly appreciated.

I have a few maps downloaded and plan on picking up a printed one.

Take her into Jefferson and have dinner and drinks at McGaritys. Lots to see and do in Jefferson for the wife...may be a nice break from the fishing. You can use the Shady Glade ramp (I think that's close to the Jackson Arm) to put your kayaks in and the restaurant there has an outstanding breakfast.

Take a left out the cabin and fish those 2 pockets with a senko and frog. Plenty of fish in those areas. U also have turtle shell not far away. Please be aware there is 2 big events Saturday out there so watch being around the marked boat runs at times
