X2, buy the extra battery. I weed whack a little over 1/4 acre fence line. Much lighter than th gas alternative. JMHO.

Keep looking forward. That’s why windshields are larger than rear view mirrors.

I have a Husqvarna that has plenty of power, but I don't know how long it goes on a charge. One thing I like is the head can rotate in either direction.

I briefly had a battery powered Echo. I made the mistake of buying the one with the split about mid-shaft where you could put other attachments on it. I found out right quick that hitting it on the ground to advance the line was going to be too hard on it, so got rid of it. I think I would have been almost OK with the Echo with the solid shaft that didn't allow the attachments because the Echo is so easy to re-string. I went back to gas with an Echo and love the re-string process. This thing will mow.

Exactly. I have a Stihl gas blower, Stihl gas Weed Eater, Stihl chainsaw. Never have a problem starting any of them and they run a long time on a tank of gas.

I bought a Ryobi, still in the box from the pawnshop.. Paid a $100 for it. It came with a huge battery.

For light use as in trimming an already nice yard during maintenance. It's absolutely perfect. The string last a while and with the size of my yard. I've never ran the battery dead.

Then the other day it fell off a table while loading with it string. Broke the damn front handle off. But I still use it. Gotta order or make a new one.

Well I went with the EGO and like Bob, I have the Sthil weekender, blower and chainsaw. For now the only change will be the weed eater. Thanks everyone, I'm hoping the EGO will be easy enough for the wife to use. After she makes my sandwich of course 😆

I got the EGO blower. Christmas present from years back.

EGO doesn't play. Really nice stuff.

Give me some suggestions under $300 if possible and able to use for 30 minutes to an hour on one charge. At least .80 line size

skip the line and put one of these on, buy a couple of packs of blades. super fast/easy to replace when one breaks, simple push/pull.

mine is on a stihl gas that I use a lot. the blades last a long time in just grass, trees, posts etc. will shorten life expectancy.

100% these! Use them on my stuff as well. And David, get you a few batteries for that EGO, you're going to need them. I had one battery that could barely last long enough for my front yard when I lived in Arlington. Only about 6K sq. ft. Went back to gas because it just couldn't handle it.

I have the Milwaukee weed eater and the blower. Great tools. It’s actually amazing the string trimmer doesn’t use much battery. The blower on the hand likes eat a battery.
