I went by there at 330 today and they said the rain this week set them back. They will TRY and get it open. Call before you make the drive. Thanks for sharing this Cliff.

I wouldn't dar use a ramp for $20. To me it's highway robery. For state parks, at least you are pating to upkeep other parts of the park. The marina has other ways of making money. They are gouging and they know it. WHat if you only have one person or maybe two in your boat. You still pay $20? Totally unfair, and taking advantage of the situation.
Here let's make people pay $7 buck a gallon of gas, It's what it would cost them in England!!! Same premise!!

I agree but just thought I would pass on the info. I do know a lot of people that can't wait to get back on the lake that will pay it. If they pay the $20 then all they will do is find ALL the ramps going up. The more that pay $20 the more likely the other ramps will think that they can up their rates too... I personally think that there's something wrong in this world when the city and state government uses our Tax money to build the lakes, charges us to fish on them, then uses out tax money to pay to build roads allowing access, BUT then allows private companies to gouge at us to use what we rightfully paid for. All but on lake in this state is man made, how is it that ANY company is allowed to charge us to access what we paid to build?

You do have to remember that the Marina is shelling out a lot of money on gravel and building a parking area so that at least you do have a choice.

Sure cliff, but just how much of the tax payers money are they returning to them for the roads leading to the marinas for the upkeep on the lake for the maintenance that we pay for etc???
Look at 121, there's at least 1/2 mile of road leading to the gate for that place, not a single house on it. All new roads leading down around the lake for them, and yet they charge $10 to get in. Who's taxes paid for all that????
I doubt anyone from 121 did...
Same is true all around the lakes.
What makes is acceptable is that there are 10 million people in this area, and not enough people are complaining. We've become a bunch of sheep being lead anyway they want to lead up....

If the TP&W would have opened the high water ramp on the old hwy 455 that they spent a lot of money on parking areas and even night lights back is the early 90's when the lake flooded before most everyone would be happy. I know I would have saved a lot of money on gas and slip charges. I do understand what you are saying about wasteing the tax payers money. I have no idea how much tax money was or is used at the marina so I can not have an answer for you..

I'm with Jerry on this one, nothing like a little price gouging in times of need.
Unless they're building a new ramp, 20 bucks is outrageous IMHO. Sounds like the 100.00 dollar sheet of ply-wood before a hurricane. However, it is their ramp, but I think people will not forget the 20.00 ramp fee season. Regardless thanks for the info Cliff

I'll pay the twenty..
There are a lot of people and businesses that rely on the summer boaters and vistors at the lake to generate revenue to keep them in business for the entire year. The ramp charges may seem excessive under normal conditions but I doubt if any of the lake vendors are raking in huge profits this summer. I would like to see them all open for business next year and will support them as much as possible now, when they may need our help more than ever.. I'm thankful that my workplace was not adversly affected by the earlier rains like these folks have endured this summer. A few extra bucks to all of them will still leave most of us in much better shape than the very people we rely on most to enjoy a day outdoors.. Judging from the previous responses I sure my opinion wont be a big hit. But for those who dont show up driving those big trucks and pulling those high-end boats because they refuse to kick in and extra $10 to help the situation, I'll just have to go fishing without you.. God I hope I get over it... Hope to see you on the water Cliff..

I ain't skeered. I've wasted more money than that on stupid things. I'd drop a twenty to get back on the water, and be doing something I love to do. My boat should be ready sometime in the middle of next week, you can bet I'll be out there. Thanks for the info, maybe I'll see ya out there Cliff.

Willz, I'll have to back you up on that. lot's of those folks that's livelyhood depend on people being on the lake were significantly adversely impacted over the last several years. An extra few bucks to support those folks, if you can afford it, shouldn't be that big of a deal. I look at it this way, with the few number of times that I was able to launch this year and last, I've spent less money that years before
