How to open up the skirts take both ends of the skirt in your fingers and run over that edge of a simi sharp board I use one for my vise. Run it back and fourth a half dozen time ans it will puff out when you hold one end.

Nice! I gotta try that.! I've been so wrapped up making Frankenstein (hybrid) soft plastics, I haven't given skirted lures a thought. Time to have fun catching bass and picks on them.

Do you use living rubber skirts anymore? I still got a lot of rolls and not sure if I should chuck them.
Also, do you use zip ties to attach skirts to jigs or spinnerbaits? I've doing it for years and it works great.

Yes I still use round rubber in fine medium & heavy grade round rubber all my baits are custom hand tied with upholstery thread bty coats & Clark what colors of round rubber do you have and in what greads
