Anyone have one? Or experience with one? Or any Toyota that is a hybrid? Just moved and now I'm commuting a little way. Really want another camry like we had with the 2.5 4 cylinder but the timing right now is not exactly ideal to buy a new one for our family. In 2025 they are only offering hybrid model camrys. I'm not sure I want a hybrid. May end up pinching my pennies and getting a 24' all gas. Any thoughts?

I've looked at buying a hybrid several times over the years and just could never get the math to work out favorably. The numbers fluctuated a bit with gasoline prices, but generally you'd have to drive the car around 150,000 miles before you'd break even from paying the premium for the hybrid.

Now if Toyota no longer offers the regular gas model then it is a whole other discussion.

next year this will be the case. Hybrid only. I'm not in position to buy now, but could if I had to.

I have a 2021 Camry hybrid SE with just over 45k miles on it. Its given me zero problems and I'd buy another.
Its lifetime mpg is just over 40 and I have seen as high as 47 on a trip where I kept 70 mph and below. We have driven it to the left coast and back through Vegas on one trip and several times to St Louis. On the trip back from Vegas I intentionally drove it 80 one tank and the mpg dropped to 41 mpg.
Mine is rated at 44 city and 47 hwy but you can get the SE version that is rated at 51 and 53 mpg.
I check mpg at the pump and have written down almost every time we stopped to get gasoline.

Its odd driving a hybrid. When you get in stop and go traffic on the freeway many times you'll notice your mpg goes up.

Another thing is the CVT transmission. The Camry's transmission has proved to be very reliable.
If I had one gripe its the oil filter. I do my own oil changes and there is an access panel on the bottom that you take off to get to the drain plug and oil filter. The oil filter location makes it a little hard to get the wrench on.
Plus I have to use a high lift jack to get under the car. I use jackstands and my old fat body barely fits.

I've had the Prius C, regular Prius and the Prius V and also have a 2022 RAV 4. All hybrids. C is a roller skate to me. The regular prius was great except visibility out the back SUCKS.sold it at 348,000 miles. I love the V. More room and great visibility. Dropped a rebuilt moter in it at 175,000 miles and a new after market battery at 320,00 that cost $1,500. Average 39.3 mpg and drive 320 miles a day, mostly NE Tarrant County but a trip out to Bowie and back daily.
RAV 4 we got 15 months ago. Wife has a lead foot as bad as mine and gets 38.6 mpg. I would buy another in a heart beat. If you drive 50 or more miles a day then get one.

We had a Highlander that we bought new in 2017. We wanted to trade this year for a new Highlander Hybrid. We wanted a specific color with the Platunum package. After being on the “list” at several Toyota dealers, for over 8 months, we traded for a different brand. We will probably go back to Toyota if availability improves, but the privilege of buying a Toyota just about wore me out.

My wife’s Lexus Hybrid shared the entire drivetrain of the Camry Hybrid. She has 150,000 absolutely trouble free miles

Oil changes every 5000 miles, three sets of Goodyear EcoMile Eagles, and one set of brake pads. That it.

Averages around 38-42 mpg combined. 60-70mpg in town and in traffic. About 35mpg when I drive it…but I like sport mode because it’s both the gas and electric motor as much as possible.

You can buy one with confidence knowing it will likely be the most reliable vehicle you’ll ever own.

I had a 2014 Camry Hybrid. Bought it used with 100k miles. Sold it with 200k miles. I had to replace the front ball joints and shocks, and that was it. Completely trouble free drivetrain. Noticeably faster than my buddy's v6 Camry, and got fantastic mileage. Battery warranty on the new ones has been extended to 150k miles I believe. If I was going to buy a new Camry, hybrid is the only thing I'd consider.

The math has changed a bit with gas at $3 a gallon and the cost increase for a hybrid used to be a lot more a few years ago than it is today. From what I've calculated, break-even is around 50k miles.

I bet we are on about our 8th 4 cyl. Camry. Somebody hit my wife in our 2023 in December and it was a total. Was glad to replace it with a carbon copy 2024.

With that said, our salesman for both the 23 & 24 has his wife in a Hybrid Camry. They also have another Toyota Hybrid, but forgot which one. He swears by them.

What a coincidence, haven't heard from him in a few months and just got an email saying lots in stock. David Dryden at Platinum Toyota in Dennison, TX is great to deal with.
