I haven’t bought any of the new ones but the XPS baits look better than they used to. The staredown jerkbait, their topwaters, etc all look like high quality knock offs. Anyone use them?

I have the new big glidebait and it looks pretty good. Sinks kinda fast though. Don't recommend near timber haha

When I am not fishing I am thinking about fishing. And mostly what I should have done differently my last trip!

I just purchased a few of the XPS chatterbaits. They are made by Z Man but after opening them up, they are about the same as the Z Man mid line of chatterbaits which you can purchase for about the same price.
I have tried some of their squarebill crankbaits which so so results, but I can say that about other main lure companies lures. I have about 3 or 4 companies that I tend to fish with that I have confidence in to catch fish.
1- Z Man
2- Spro
3- Rapala
4- Strike King

I have many, many others as I am a addict to buying lures, and i will mix some in every now and then. Berkley is fast becoming a lure company I like.

There is an art to producing a quality jerkbait.
The weight transfer system, the buoyancy, the hooks all have to be in balance.

Squarebills, lipless, spinnerbaits, and most soft plastics….sure, I’d buy some XPS brand….but jerkbaits and resin ABS swimbaits take some finesse that an homage can’t cheaply reproduce.

I’d think they could be reverse engineered pretty easy. I’ve had just as much luck with jerk baits that are totally different than the one that everyone tries to copy. The duel hardcore has been the best for me, Rapala rip stop as well so I don’t think there is just one way.

It’s not just straight forward spherical lead; they use tungsten/custom alloys with specific coefficients of friction in well tuned upper tier jerkbaits.

The XPS lures are a good product. Their other brand (Tourney Special?) is [censored].

Well them bass sure do know which bait cost more, don't overthink it. high dollar baits are what some will pay cause they think they will catch more and bigger bass. My personal best came off a $2 Booya CB just under 10lbs
Spend away!
To each his own.

I'm sure there are some good lures bu other than the old stud fry I haven't been much a fan of BPS tackle. Heard they are bringing back the XPS swim bait, never got my hands on the original.
