I have a 22 ft blue wave center console, You cannot reach the bow area from underneath, In the past I have used the bolts with the expanding rubber , These never worked well for me. Last time I used toggle bolts from above. This worked for the last install. I am going to install a garmin Kracken , I am worried that the toggle screws might not be the ticket this time. So I am thinking of cutting a round access hole in the front deck so I can use the factory supplied hardware.
What does the TFF brain trust think ?
TIA

I have a Blue Wave 220 Classic........you have no storage or anchor access in the forward deck. What year model?Mine was the easiest TM mounting experience ever, all those bass boats were a royal pain in the azz.
If you absolutely have zero access I'd take it to a dealer before cutting holes in that forward deck.

Did you use the TM rubber isolater bolts with expanding rubber? The ones that are T shaped. I had them on my Ranger Bass boat and no problems. Fortunately the Champ has a panel on the bow for TM plug.

I cut a round hole in the recessed footwell of my BassCat and installed a threaded deck plug. Makes it a snap to thru bolt and access wiring.

Isolators suck. Toggles are better. Cutting a hole a nutting them great. Making hard turns with isolators will ruin a trip.nit at 1st but they will.

In all my renovation's I started to use quick release mounts. That way if the TM ever has to be removed for what ever reason it is quick are easy. As stated above, rubber mount idolaters should be used as a last resort. If there is room to put in an access door I would do it. Just get one that will seal when closed.

I try to avoid isolators but needed to use them in some places with no space under the deck. Avoid well nuts from hardware store, they fail quickly. The isolators sold by Motorguide work very good for me, I just removed a trolling motor off of a new to me boat and had to cut the tops off and let the bottoms fall inside to remove them.....
