Ok I have an X2 cranking battery, two lowrance live 16’s with active target at the bow, fished for 8 hours yesterday, live well on entire time on a timer, fired the big motor a couple times to idle across cove, right at the end of day my crank battery would not crank the engine, this has happened a couple times or more over a two year period, the battery will also run down if left unplugged for a week or two, this is with both power switches off, do I have a weak battery, is something else drawing current while sitting unplugged, would active target draw it down that much in 8 hours ? To top it off my factory jump start does not work either, dealer said they had to order a new pergo switch, thanks for any suggestions.

I have the same battery and can only get about 4-5 hours of scoping out of without running the big engine a lot. I have had to jump from the TM batteries a couple times just to get the motor started. My battery is about 2 years old. Lithium is in my near future.

The live and the 2 16s are drawing 7.5 amps an hour. Plus any lights you had in early, wells, plus your unit at console. Yes I would think that would hit battery pretty hard.

Time for a 125ah Lithium cranker!! I can run three graphs, AT1, music, two separate livesells, morning Nav lights, occasional power poles…and end the day @ over 80% charged.

You are sucking lots of juice with those big screens! I have a 16 at the dash and two twelves up front and I am seriously considering running a house battery for my electronics. Getting stranded sucks.

I would have gone with a lithium cracker but at the time there was still chatter about mercury voiding warranty. Would putting console graph on standby help much ?

Does your Merc have the ability to charge two batteries simultaneously? Yamaha has a plug inside the cowl that is 8g and is an isolated charging lead for a “house” battery. If you have something like that on the Merc, a good idea would be to keep the AGM on the motor only, and use the secondary charging to charge a lithium battery for your electronics. Of course, I’d still recommend and another charging bank for charging off the water. So adding another battery would mean adding another charging bank. $$$

Mercury approved lithium’s and an Ionic 125 will cure his problems.

Put a Perko switch right after your cranker. Mine doesn’t draw down in storage anymore !

Do you put your graphs in standy-by? For example put your bow in stand by when moving spots and put your console in standby while fishing in the bow. The screens consume a lot of power. No point in leaving it running in full brightness if no one is looking at them. Also stop transducers if you aren't using them. That all will help conserve power.

Happened to me when I got my Garmin last year. Solution? Got a lithium. My electronics are on all day and I still have plenty of juice to fire up the engine. Very simple.
