I was wondering where would be a good place to view the solar eclipse in April between Bonham & Paris?

Cool, also I was just thinking that Lake Fannin might be a good option?

or the lot at 897 bridge ramp on bois d'arc.

anywhere in fannin should have a premium view, we are right in the middle of the path.

I so hope it’s cloudy and rainy that day.

roflmao... I hear it crazy in the Cincinnati area... That area is supposed to be in the prime viewing area... Hotels are all sold out, B&B's are all booked, campgrounds booked... Dan

Gonna speak in bullet points

We travelled to SC for the last eclipse a few years back.
Wife's family lives in the path of totality so figured we could kill 2 stones with one bird.
Wife's family threw a party for the eclipse which was a nice gesture but ultimately a mistake.
Despite a completely clear forecast for the entire day, a pop-up storm blew in literally 15-30 minutes before the eclipse and ruined it for us.
Completely clear skies and eclipse viewing less than an hour away.
EXTREME disappointment.

Here's what I learned from that experience:

If you truly want to experience the eclipse, don't tie yourself down to any one location. Leave yourself the flexibility to drive multiple hours in any direction to find peak visibility.

P.S. To get the maximum effect of the eclipse, you want to be far enough away from cities to minimize light pollution. If you're in the path of totality, it should get dark enough, in the middle of the day, to see all the stars as if it were nighttime.

Thanks for the info, I have a brother in-law who's a photographer & he's going to be in the area while it's happening.

I took a vacation day, and taking the kids out of school. We are looking forward to it.

Probably just watch it from my front yard or maybe Murrell Park or Twin Coves park. I did buy a couple pair of viewing glasses earlier today at Kroger.
