As you well know TRS can be great with some things and a PIA with some.

I always thought express scripts big thing was they mailed you a 3 month supply through their specialty pharmacy and that’s how they kept costs down for them and for the insured. I also think different plans list different medications at different tiers. So it’s possible one called it a tier 3 and another calls it a tier 4, hence making your out of pocket charge more. This is just what I’ve heard. It literally varies from plan to plan even if it’s the same “brand”.

Our insurance is through my wife’s job at Morgan Stanley. Fortunately whatever the prescription program is it’s pretty good. My wife takes several prescriptions and they are affordable. I do not have any regular prescriptions. When I have gotten a few short term they have been affordable.

We both have good jobs which we have put years of hard work into climbing the ladder. That gave us two health care insurance options. About 10 years ago they were pretty much the same. Her’s began to get significantly better so we switched my health insurance to her plan. That cost us $160 yr for way better benefits. Max out of pocket was $4,200 yr less.

They need to control drug prices like they control utility prices. People can’t do without their essential prescriptions. Drug companies should be able to get reasonable rates of return on their investment. These rates need to be set high enough to encourage companies to be in the market with R&D and production yet their product to be affordable to those who must have it.

I use Amazon pill pack for my 6 scripts for $21.45 down from $26.11. But Humana went up $27 a month.

The American people should not be subsidizing drug prices for the rest of the world which is what is happening today.

The pulmonologist changed me from Symbicourt to Breztri, better kickback for him I guess.

Wellcare is suggesting Advair HFA, Breo Ellipta or Dulera.

US drug companies develop most everything and the rest of the world benefits- while our citizens get the shaft.

Seeing more and more signs posted at medical offices stating the following:
