I think the rumors of its demise were greatly exaggerated.

Better bring the FFS. Fork has some of the most educated bass in the country. They have seen more lures than the average bass lake.
They are picking off so many fish using FFS. Maybe 5% of the FFS targeted fish would be caught in the tournament without FFS.
Add that the high Florida strain makes them temperamental.

Fork had been fishing very well. Even before they came. With that being said, I consider myself pretty good on the lake with out FFS. Rarely ever turn it on. But after what I saw this weekend, we will be spending some time with it over the next few months. Just adds more to your arsenal out there. Even when conditions change or get tough.
As far as Fork being dead….. you’ll still have the same idiots come in and say it is. But minus the true sharelunkers over 13, she’s been spitting out 7-10 lbs fish consistently over the last several years.

Pretty impressive what we just witnessed. Spent a week at Fork some years ago during similar time of year and weather and never ran into a 35lb bag that's for sure, heck I was pretty happy to bag one over.

But minus the true sharelunkers over 13, she’s been spitting out 7-10 lbs fish consistently over the last several years. This.but it’s been mostly slots and an occasional over…..and the overs have been 5-8lbs for the most part. Would have thought the scopers would have already “jackpotted” the big bass events but that hasn’t happened. The overs just haven’t been there and that’s why they have gone to the lakes with the 13s to make a name and $$$s Due to the draw down it’s fishing like a new lake with the flooded cover that grew up.. I predict we will see a teenager or two this spring or at least a couple 10-12s in the big bass tournaments vs 5-8 lbers This week shows the lake needs cover either via periodic drawdowns or allowing vegetation like hydrilla and other grasses grow versus spraying it as soon as it appears in areas without Salvina or hyacinth. Regardless what I have been told, I have seen it happening and the boats aren’t mark with TPW. So who knows who doing the spraying. They sprayed areas like alligator. Saw it happen when they were trying to introduce grass there with the metal cages. We were told the experiment failed or the turtles ate it. That year alligator was full of milfoil and pond weed already before the experiment. Also there was acres of pond weed growing down there on the main lake. It disappeared almost over night at the start of summer that year. Lake needs cover and not spraying except in very controlled manner when salvina is discovered.
