I have two...
We had a par three at the end of our street at 53rd and Lewis. At the time we were out of the city limits. The par three went away but they let the cook (Goldie Crow) buy the clubhouse for a few thousand dollars. Her and her husband Melvin turned out the best char grilled burgers you ever ate. As the story goes, they expanded to many locations, rebuilt the original and eventually retired. It was never the same. I still covet the Coors sign with the flowing water.
The second is Ma Bell's at 51st and Yale. You ordered on a phone at your booth. Best hickory burgers and curly fries.

My first Kip's Big Boy hamburger from the Kip's in Grand Prairie. Early 60's I think. About the same time I got introduced to Mexican food at the El Chico in Dallas.

Shakeys pizza in underground Atlanta, I was probably 10 or so and it was the first wild and loud place I had ever been to up to that point, a lot of beer swilling going on

We didn’t go out when I was a kid due to financial limitations(poor). But my dad was career Air Force and annually the unit and all their families were invited to the mess hall at Thanksgiving, there was such an abundance and variety of food it was awesome. They even had simple menus which was special because I had never seen one that wasn’t on the wall.

We have been back quite a few times to Tulsa and haven’t done Goldie’s in a while. Ron’s is good and it’s close to where her parents live.

In Japan they had open house where families were allowed to view all the planes. I thought it was a big deal for me to help my dad get sodas out of his secure work space. We also didn't eat out. I do remember a couple times after a little league game we would stop at an A&W drive-in for ice cream cones.

Train Station Diner. Had the flip song selector things at each table. Plus great watching the trains go through town.
Haven't been back there in a few decades. Heard they took it down when the trains stopped going through town.
May you be treated the way you treat other people, today and everyday!

Do you remember Chi Chi's? I was going to mention getting their fried ice cream as a little kid was one of my favorite early dinning memories

Also a restaurant in Atlanta called pilgreens, fried cauliflower was the bomb
