With all the B.A.S.S. pros at Fork I was thinking about going to CC. I haven’t been on that lake in 10 years and need a little help. Best place to buy minnows? Best boat ramp close to good crappie fishing? Thanks in advance!!

There was a minnow shop on 175 Just east of Kemp a couple of miles. Also, there's great crappie fishing on both sides of 175 in that area, you'll see the parked vehicles if they're in the shallows. Good luck!
Biden famously said in the New York Observer, “I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy. I mean, that’s a storybook, man.”

There` a little mobile gas station on the left side of 175 if your heading south east just before you go across Lacy Creek they sell minnows.

That’s an interesting lake in that there is “good” crappie fishing all over it. Given its lack of natural structure any type of man made structure is your friend. I would be targeting the 6-12’ range as the majority of fish are still going to be in staging areas. Log cabin is a good place to launch. Most of the mid lake is full of brush in the 8-15’ range and there are rocks by the spillway that may be worth a shot with jig and bobber to pick up a few males that are starting to get a tad frisky, but even further south like CC is it’s a tad early. I’m sure Anthony will be by shortly to correct me.

I would fish shallow, with the recent temperatures we have had and the full moon a wave of fish have been shallow spawning. I caught big males and females spawning in 1-2 feet of water this week on a lake around DFW north of CC so I’m sure they would be shallow spawning there as well.

Right now all the ramps are good since the lake is nearly full. Lone Star, Log Cabin, Clear Creek on the north side of 198 and the ramps off of 334 between Seven Points and GBC are all available. It's really going to depend on where you want to fish on the lake. West, east, south or north side. I know Lone Star and Log Cabin cost $10 to launch. I think the others are public but I'm not sure.

Thanks guys. What about good boat ramps? What type boat do you have? Lacy Creek off 175 should be turning on this time of year.

Tom Finley for north end $3 not a bad run to the spillway. Caney south end free. Big tournaments always run out of log cabin. If caney is packed overflow is $10.
Minnows north end causeway marina they sell by weight Minnows south end Kammans near caney bait ramp.

CC has a good population of black crappie. One of the guides who's been guiding on CC for 30 yrs said they always catch black crappie shallow around cattails and rip rap by Feb 20. With these temps lately, I'd give Lacy Creek a try also.
