Did you ever use an empty bread sack to put a sandwich or other food item in. I remember working with my dad in the summer when I was growing up and everyone carried their lunch and ate on the job. Someone always had some type of food in empty bread sack. You never threw away the plastic bag after all the bread was gone. You always repurposed it for something else. I ate many a sandwich that I carried in my lunch that was in a repurposed Mrs. Bairds bag.

Nothing wrong with that. We recycle the grocery bags to use as trash bags for the small room trash cans

Yep, I have done that. Back in the day, we used the paper sacks as book covers for school.

I pick up dog poo with them and grocery sacks.

Seen and have reused lots of tin foil in my time too. Poor Folks Have Poor ways. I was told when I was a kid.

I remember mom putting socks over our hands and then taping empty bread bags on. Then we could go play in the snow.

We did that when I was a kid in Washington.

I ate one and sometimes two pieces of fruit for lunch most of the time when I was a letter carrier and I carried it in old shopping bags or whatever was handy. I could use the same bag for weeks.

Still do it to this day!

back before we had toe warmers or really warm insulated waders,we would put those plastic freezer bags over our socks...

Did this for 20 years in the Air Force,...light socks, plastic bag, medium socks,...

I have some sitting in my rubber boots outside right now for that very reason.

I used them growing up in my hunting boots over my wool socks.
Not sure if they even had insulated boots back then, but we sure couldn't afford them even if they did.

My grandma said that back before rubbers, all the fellers coming to call on her would use bread bags for birth control. She said it was very messy and didn’t really work.
