I am attempting to get my 13 yo son into bass fishing. However, all my boats and experience in the last 25 years are geared towards saltwater fishing. I am looking for a guide that is good with kids, has a teachers heart, and may be able to speak about high school bass fishing teams. My son enjoys fishing with me at the coast, but has never had a real bass fishing experience.

I think it would be pretty cool if my son and his buddy formed a high school fishing team when he gets there in a couple years. I would be all in and would trade boats if he got serious.

I'm interested in your opinions and recommendations.

I have coached numerous HS bass fishing teams. In laws have a place on LBJ so have fished it a lot. Are you limited to learning just LBJ? Or? Where are yall? I take a lot of kiddos and teach multi species.

FYI, I'm sure you know but bass fishing is a LOT different than salt in terms of number of fish you generally catch per outing. There's great days, good days, and skunk days. I hit LBJ Tuesday and had one of those " great days". My best 5 were in the 20-21 pound range. But I've had days where I struggle to catch a limit. If you guys want do a day out there I'd be glad to take you guys out. No charge. How good is he at casting? Can he skip a bait?

Charles Whited is a good full time fishing guide who knows LBJ well. He has been fishing Lake LBJ for decades. You might give him a call. https://www.barefootfishingtours.com/
