Need a guide recommendation on LBJ for my son and I to learn to bass fish. I've been fishing at the coast for the last 25 years and my son enjoys going with me, but he has never been on a serious bass fishing trip. Trying to see if he would be interested in a high school bass fishing team.

Guides i've had central texas lake guided trips with that really know the lake:
Jake Kennamer - https://fishinguncharted.com/
Ray Tomasits - https://www.hcbasscoach.com/
Ander Meine - https://andermeine.com

I've only fished with Ander on LBJ. I've fished with the other guys on other central texas lakes, but both have won large tournaments on LBJ before. I've learned a lot and had a great time fishing with all 3

Charles Whited would be my choice.

I've also done a guided trip with Charles Whited, who is definitely one of the top 5 best fishermen in central texas. I thought the others did a better job of actually teaching. Charles is more of "here's the pole, cast right over there" type. We definitely caught a bunch of fish but i feel like i actually learned more from the other 3. my two cents.

Fishing LBJ a lot I have seen a guide...think it's more than one person....called Hill Country Hammers. Don't have any personal experience with them but they catch a lot of bigs according to their facebook page.

I have talked to the owner of Hill Country Hammer and seems like a nice guy. They do catch some bigs on LBJ.

I have coached numerous HS bass fishing teams. And taught tons of folks. In laws have a place on LBJ and fish it often. I trailer all over the state and up and down the coast.
