Who has one? I have used Rapala forever but this year after my second one in 2 years died went to the Bubba scale. I got the $100 one, not the big one, but I am seeing that the weight is very light. Has anyone else had this problem? An example is our last tourney. The scale showed I had 11.07 pounds of fish, but the certified scale showed 11.96. I used it in prefishing and one fish showed 1.82, but it was WAY bigger than that. Just not sure if I like it, or maybe I have a setting off. I can't find any videos on the cheaper version, so figured I would ask your thoughts.

Does it have a way to calibrate it?

I cannot find one. I do not have the instructions or rather can't find them in my logical filing system! grin

They must have been using those crappie masters scales.

Every scale I've had is lighter than a tournament scale. Some more than others! On tournament day I like a big bump! On guide trips I wish I had one that was heavy! roflmao

I'm betting your Bubba scale is more accurate than your clubs scale.

I have one. I weighed in a fish for big bass. The tournament scale showed it about 8 ounces heavier than I had it. I tested it when I got home on a 5 pound wieght and it was dead on .... idk. It seems a lot heavier duty than other scales I have had. For the record if it is weighing lite I may have eaten several lake record crappie for pk lately....lol

Don't know about the Bubba scale. The Rapala I have is .03lbs lighter than the CAT certified tournament scale. My partners' Rapala is .09lbs lighter. When weighing single fish in a clean basket, the Rapala is that close with the tournament scale. The problem is all the water and slime in the baskets after multiple fish are weighed. You never want to be the first couple teams to weigh in. Watching the CAT weigh in last tournament, when the fish were dumped from the basket, half the time there was water running out of the basket. Doesn't take much water to weigh 8 ozs. And when those mesh weigh bags are used, there is no way a correct weight is being recorded.

Also interesting was the difference in the CAT certified scale and CrappieMasters scale. My Rapala was always real close to the CAT scale. When we weighed fish for CrappieMasters, the fish always weighed 4-6 ozs more.

I dont know abt BUBBA, but I compared my Rapala against several different scales I own, digital caloric scales, refrigerant scale where a half an ounce is critical sometimes, and the rapala is within 1/2 ounce of the scales I compared it to. it too favors the light side..
If you go make buddies with a butcher at a meat store, they have certified scales as well.. go buy exactly 1 pound of cheese or meat. tell them you want exactly one pound, then weigh it on your scale..
you may be able to calibrate your bubba scale, once you know how much its off, by adding a link or two to the chain, or removing links, or the chain and using a string.. if not, once you know how much its off, just use Kentucky windage to dial it in..

I would bet it does, because it has to be calibrated at the factory somehow.. whether they will tell you how or not is the question.., it might be proprietary information ... ha
would be interesting to peel it open and see if there are little tension springs that can be adjusted..
